Help!!! My Chihuahua ate part of his fleece blanket will he be ok?
So Henry my 1 year old chihuahua ate chunks out of a fleece blanket...HE CHEWS EVERYTHING!!! UGH!!! when he was 6 months old he ate a leather studded collar...everything but the tag and the buckle and I had to take him to the emerge vet because he had 12 metal studs in his tummy...he ended up having surgery that cost me 6k....the studs were too heavy to pass...now he's eaten part of the blanket that I folded in his crate...he ate a little food about 3 hours after eating som of the blanket and had a BM just after he ate his food....I'm not sure if there was any blanket in his stool or not....hard to tell...will the stomach acids break down the blanket?? Should I wait a day to see if anything passes?? I really can't afford to pay 6k again for an operation...but I'm worried....anyone else gone through this?? My Henry is about 10lbs...not a tiny chihuahua.
Also any tips on stopping him from chewing on things??? I've now removed the blanket so he won't be chewing it anymore...
Rin is right.
Get some bitter apple spray. Spray on anything and everything he likes to chew,
including your cables and wires, and blankets too.
Talk to your vet about what to do, just in case he has a blockage.
