Gaining psychological advantage is the most important component of creating meaningful change within the context of Nature and the pack relationship. Increasing the level of authoritative thinking and interaction is needed to allow the dominant dog to release the lead role. The dog feels authority manifested through the physical but not connected via the psychological with the owner. The dog may not link or associate the physical presence of authority with the owner. Real and meaningful change with how the owner is thinking and interacting is not occuring. Within this context an increase of stress will result for the dog. Further the owner may increase the level on the remote collar thus creating the possibility of psychological issues for the dog. To overcome these issues everything must be stripped away and brought back to the psychological path. To understand the power of this connection is to observe how power can shift from a dog rehab context. Owners will express a higher level of emotion towards an injured dog which is interpreted as power. The dog will recover from the physical injury but become damaged psychologically. Owners must learn how to discipline how they think to maintain balance within Nature.
