Gaining psychological advantage is the most important component of creating meaningful change within the context of Nature and the pack relationship. Increasing the level of authoritative thinking and interaction is needed to allow the dominant dog to release the lead role. Often owners express too high of a level of emotion which creates a power vacuum within the relationship and forces the dog to take the dominant role. Expressing a higher level of what the owner wants which is linked to confidence creates the framework towards meaningful change. Once returned back to the owner the dog often will regain power over time if the owner fails to change how they think and interact.

If a disconnect exists between a device and the owner via the psychological it can cause issues within the relationship. When you begin to recognize the psychological connection between dogs and humans a device can be seen an merely an extension of self, of how the owner thinks. Some devices, such as remote collars can cause a psychological twister effect for dogs if the physical is disconnected from the psychological. Authority is expressed via the psychological before it manifests itself through the device. Corrective collars such as choke chains usually connect to the psychological where remote collars may not. Physical manipulation of the leash while expressing what you want a dog to do indicates the psychological is following the same authoritative path. With a remote collar this may not be the case. The owner can push a button to create a physical manifestation of authority while maintaining an emotionally high psychological state. The dog feels authority manifested through the physical but not connected via the psychological with the owner. The dog may not link or associate the physical presence of authority with the owner. Real and meaningful change with how the owner is thinking and interacting is not occuring. Within this context an increase of stress will result for the dog. Further the owner may increase the level on the remote collar thus creating the possibility of psychological issues for the dog. To overcome these issues everything must be stripped away and brought back to the psychological path. To understand the power of this connection is to observe how power can shift from a dog rehab context. Owners will express a higher level of emotion towards an injured dog which is interpreted as power. The dog will recover from the physical injury but become damaged psychologically. Owners must learn how to discipline how they think to maintain balance within Nature.

Dogs are more complicated than a device or gadget. They are more than a physical being. They share an unseen connection with us through Nature and the pack relationship. Changing how we think can truely change everything, at least in a dog's world.

An unruly dog can be quite a nuisance when going to the park, walking, or even in your own back yard. Neighbors and bystanders can get frustrated by barking and being bothered by your pet. Although running around, barking and playing are all natural behaviors of your dog, everyday activities with them are much easier if they are taught to obey commands and behave in an appropriate manner. Sometimes leash training is not enough and other methods must be used.

A remote trainer is a device many owners are now using as a way to teach their dog appropriate behavior and follow commands. This device allows you to train your dog without a leash. It consists of a collar and a remote control device that delivers a set level of static shock when a command is disobeyed. This shock grabs your dog's attention and teaches them that the discomfort will come when they do not listen to you. The collar has a box with two electrodes. These electrodes must contact the skin in order for it to function properly.

When using one of these devices, take off their regular collar. Have them wear the trainer collar a few times before starting to correct their behaviors so they can become accustomed to it. Training is much like any other dog training. Start with one basic behavior command such as sit or stay and use the correction if they do not follow the command. You may have to show them what the command means a few times before using the correction. Attempt to teach them with a leash for basic understanding before using the remote trainer. If they disobey, correct them with the collar. Give them praise if they follow the command. After one command has been mastered, move on to the next one.

Always start out with the lowest correction level. Increase it as the dog continues to disobey. Continue repeating the command word and giving corrections until the dog obeys. These trainers are not only good for correcting bad behavior, you can also use them to teach your dog tricks and keep them safe. Walking can be a much more pleasant event because you will not have to shout at your dog and can walk them without a leash if desired. This means no more jerking and pulling.

As a dog owner, activities with your dog should be enjoyable for both you and your pet. When your dog does not listen and obey you, this makes each activity stressful and frustrating. All the fun and relaxation is removed and your pet does not get the satisfaction they need while being out. Come to think of it, training a God is not just converting your dog to simple following your instructions and commands. When you start training your dog for obedience and anti aggressive behavior you actually increase your interaction with your pet. In the course of training, your dog learns a few tricks, but at the same time you also get to learn a lot about your four legged companion.

There are numerous ways and means to train a dog, but one of the most effective dog training aids is an electronic clicker The essence of clicker training is that the dog is guided, not forced, into the desired behavior.

The clicker works on the principles of conditioning behavior and association of actions with sounds as experimented by Ivan Pavlov (a Russian Behavioral expert) long ago. He researched and established a relation between sounds and sight. He determined that even in the absence of the actual situation we can condition an intelligent animal such as a dog to react for a situation on hearing a sound even in the absence of the actual situation and associating sounds with events and required actions.

Pavlov had trained conditioned his dog for associating the sound of a bell with food and the dogs even started producing additional saliva when the bell rang and food was not provided as they had over a period of time associated the sound with food.

In the similar way you can train your dogs to act and behave in a required manner to the sound of a clicker. It takes a lot of patience, but is entirely non-confrontational. If you learn and understand clicker training you will not only be more effective in training dogs, but you will probably also improve your people handling skills.

Clicker in my opinion is one of the greatest dog training aids developed till now and suitable for dogs of all sizes and breeds.

If you have a disability or some other medical condition, chances are very good that you can still enjoy the companionship of a dog just like anyone else. It has been show that people with disabilities often have improved their quality of living by having a dog present in there homes and this is due to a number of factors. Having a disability does not have to put a damper on your relationship with your dog and their are a number of things you can do to maximize the quality of your relationship with your dog.

Dogs require care just like any other creature and this often involves giving shots, grooming, and other activities which will require your efforts. Having a disability can sometimes hinder your ability to perform these activities so you may need to turn to other sources of help, such as your veterinarian, or an in dog care representative, in order to perform these required tasks. There are many individuals who would be willing to make house visits in order to help you care for your dog including dog sitters, your own family, and perhaps some of your close neighbors. Most dog sitters are trained to handle and care for dogs so chances are they will know how to work with your dog in order to provide him the care that you are unable to do when it comes to these types of activities.

There are an unlimited number of activities that you can participate in with your dog that do not require a lot of effort on your part. Dogs love to chase and fetch and a great way to allow them to do so is by using flashlights or laser pointers. By simply moving your wrist just a little bit in order to shine the light onto the floor, you can provide your dog with hours of fun by teasing him with the light so as to make him chase it. There are other remote control toys that you can purchase that will provide your dog with plenty of entertainment as well such as remote control cars, stuffed animals, and so on. Both the laser pointer and remote control toys are excellent sources of exercise for your dog and do not require a lot of physical activity on your part.

Many dogs are trained to assist humans in some of the more simple functions of daily life like walking, seeing, and so on. If this pertains to you, then you may benefit from getting a dog that is able to assist you in some or many of these functions. If you're concerned about bringing your dog out into the public and not being able to bring him to many places that you want to go, don't worry because assistance dogs can be taken anywhere that dogs trained for leading the blind or def are allowed.

There are a number of shortcuts you can take when performing daily activities around the house for your dog. One great example is feeding strategy. You may consider saving a little effort by pre-packing your dogs food into individual serving size bags so when it comes time to feed your dog, all you have to do is dump the contents into their dog bowl. This will save you some effort of having to pick up the dog bowl and move it around in order to get it filled. If you have trouble bending over or crouching down to pick the dog bowl up off the floor, then you may want to consider purchasing a stand which will hold your dog's food dish up off the ground which will make it easier for you as well as your dog.

If you have a disability which prevents you from exerting a lot of physical activity, then you may not be able to walk your dog like you would normally want to. One option that you can consider is hiring someone to walk your dog for you, or perhaps even convincing a neighborhood kid or adult to take your dog for a walk on a regular basis. There is always someone that is willing to help walk your dog for you. If you have a fenced in yard, you may be able to get by without having to walk your dog if you simply allow them to run around in that yard on numerous occasions throughout the day. This will also allow them to get the exercise they need.

Just because you have a disability does not mean that you can't have a dog and you can enjoy all of the pleasures and happiness that any dog owner gets by having that level of companionship.
